Functional Window Art

My friend has a unique way to display her daughter’s photos  and artwork in her room.  Check out this old window:window

She found this old window at an antique store and didn’t even have to do any refinishing.  She just cleaned it off and left it in its shabby state.window4window5She uses little bits of glue dots to hold her daughter’s artwork and photos behind the glass.  That way they are interchangeable. window2 And you see those little gel decorations everywhere now, what a cute way to add a little extra personality!

window3I’ve seen these old windows used in a variety of ways lately….as jewelry displays, dry erase memo boards, and more.  They are so versatile and unique.

Weekend Bloggy Reading

  1. I love this idea for decorating my daughter's bedroom! Thanks!

  2. Ohhhhh! I have three windows in my garage that I've been saving. Glad I stopped by and saw this adorable idea!

I hope you'll come participate in my link party today! It runs all week so come back and add more BOY projects! All About The Boy @ The Nifty Nest!

  3. Wonderful! My little girl is getting to the age that I've started looking for kid art displays and I love this one. I love the combination of photos and kid art. Very sweet.

  4. I have a 9 pane window that I plan on using as a picture frame for above my sofa.

Now, I'll have to look for one with bigger panes for artwork. I have some time, my daughter is just 15 months old, so she's not creating any artwork right now!

    Thanks for the idea!

  5. I love this idea! I love that you used photo's and your childs art! I featured this on my friday favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you have to say!
