I don’t know about y’all, but I pretty much live in flip flops during the summer. Actually from about April through October! Did you know flip flops are for more than just a fashion statement on your feet? How about using them in decorating as well!
Here’s a few more details on the flip flop wreath my friend made that I pictured yesterday. Here’s the wreath before:
Totally cute, but it had gotten a bit faded and was coming apart. So she started over and used a basket instead, much like the spring wreath she made. She found the sunflowers at Wal-mart, the greenery was left over from another wreath making project, and the flip flops came from Wal-mart and Dollar Tree.
After putting it together, it needed a little something extra.....like a chalk board sign! She had a circular piece of craft wood that never got used on a previous project...so, a little chalk board paint and ta-daa! Notice the twine in stead of ribbon...it goes along with the new burlap obsession.
The perfect welcoming touch for her parent’s lake house!
Wonder what are some other ways to use flip flops in decorating? I feel a Google search coming on…..
I’ll be sharing this post with TDC Before & After Party, The Categorically Crafting Party (Summer) at Someday Crafts, Fabulous Friday Linky Party, and some of the other great linky parties seen HERE.
