Valance From Table Runner: Version Two

A couple weeks ago, I asked for opinions on my table runner turned valance.  While I got positive feedback, I really wasn’t happy with the look, so my mom and I made some revisions.

In case you can’t tell, we combined two table runners and added some pleats to give it more volume and depth.  Now it doesn’t look like I just stretched a table runner across the window!

It took some very advanced mathematical calculations (ie trial & error) to get the pleats spaced right, and I’m really happy with the end result.

We also made a coordinating one for the kitchen window. IMG_1815IMG_1817IMG_1816IMG_1818

So, at $6.00 per runner, that’s $18 for TWO custom window treatments! Add in the cost of the wood plus tax and we’re talking less than $30, which is still less than the cost of ONE bamboo shade!  Works for me!

  1. Very fun, I like the modifications you made, so nice you have your mom to help you. The pleats are so nice because it gives it more dimension. I see our link button up there, so I'm hoping I'll see you at A Crafty Soiree this week! The linky is now up!
