Met Monday: Boring To Bling

I had the opportunity to try out some new Swarovski crystals from Artbeads recently.  I use their flat back rhinestones all the time on my frames and tins, so I decided to try something different and take one of my plain baseball caps from this:

IMG_3043After my review a couple weeks ago, Artbeads contacted me about becoming a part of their “Blogging for Beaders” program and of course I jumped at the chance!  So I ordered some of the hotfix Swarovski crystals and embellished this baseball cap.  Now it’s the perfect addition to my game day attire!  Here’s the back:

IMG_3048These rhinestones were easy to use and oh so sparkly! I just stuck the wrong side of the rhinestones to some adhesive backing, placed it on my hat, covered it with a thin cloth, and held the iron over it for several seconds.  You could also use one of these Bejeweler tools:

The possibilities are endless for this kind of project.  Artbeads offers a variety of sizes and colors of genuine Swarovski crystals at great prices, as well as fun ideas on their website.  How cute is this embellished hat for the winter??

Embellished jeans are so popular in stores right now, but you can make your own for a lot less money:

Extreme thanks to Artbeads for providing me with the resources to complete my embellished project, I’ll be sharing more projects in the future.  What can you take from boring to bling??

Head on over to Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday to see more transformations!
