I recently tried out a new craft, making felt food. My “niece” was going to be getting a play kitchen for Christmas, so I thought it would be cute to make her some felt food to go along with it.
There are tons of tutorials on the web, and I got a lot of ideas from Etsy and Flickr, too. Keeper of the Cheerios has a great list of tutorials as well. Click on each photo to the see the tutorial that I used, if applicable.
I spray painted a little natural wood basket to hold everything.
Strawberries and Oranges:
Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies: I have to say, I got pretty hooked on making all this little food! I tried to pick ones that could be made using my sewing machine, the hand stitching was much more time-consuming. I have lots of felt left over and plan on making more in the future.

Thank you so much for this post. I am not all that great at sewing but I am going to try to make my niece a breakfast set of food for her new kitchen santa brought her. Since I am terrified of my sewing machine I am going to try to handsew....crossing my finger!
